Congratulations! You Got Your Braces Off!
Retainers are worn to hold the position of your teeth. If you do not wear them accordingly, your teeth will move. Wearing your retainers is a LIFETIME COMMITMENT!
- Wear your retainers all the time for the first 12 months except when eating and brushing!
- Always use your case when your retainers are out of your mouth.
- For the first few days, your saliva may increase.
- Your speech may be affected. Practice talking or reading out loud to improve your speech.
- Keep your retainers away from pets.
- Soak retainers each night in warm water with 1 tablet of Efferdent (sold as denture cleaner) for 20 minutes.
- Clean retainers with lukewarm water/cold with mild soap, don’t use toothpaste and your toothbrush it will ruin the material of your retainers!
*Please keep all of your retainer appointments and remember to bring your retainers with you. Otherwise, your appointment will be rescheduled*
